Swimming with Linzi is all about having fun in a safe environment whilst gaining water confidence and developing great stroke technique.
Classes are fun based and relaxed with only 7 children in each class, only 1 lesson running at a time and the whole pool to ourselves, so we have lots of space. In this environment I find my swimmers really enjoy their lessons and thrive.
At Swimming With Linzi we follow the progressive STA guidelines with
- Starfish Awards for babies
- Stanley Awards for 2-5 year,
- Octopus for 5-7 years
- Goldfish 5-10 years
- Angelfish 6-10 years
for more advanced swimmers including Distance Awards for 5m – 100m!

- Beginners with a parent
- Beginners Independently
- Improvers 1-3

Get to know Linzi
Hi, thank you for your interest in my small, independent STA swim school.
I live in Sheriff Hutton and I set up my swim school after training and teaching my own children to swim many years ago. I realised then, that the goal to swimming success is fun!
I like to get to know all the children I teach individually, and adapt my teaching to suit every child. This philosophy enables your child to happily progress at their own pace.
I have over 18 years experience of swimming teaching and I am a fully qualified STA Swimming Instructor, STA baby and pre-school teacher. I hold a Level 3 STA Diploma in Aquatic Teaching for Baby and Pre-school, STA lifeguard certificate and have DBS clearance.

A Cost-Effective and Engaging Learn-to-Swim Programme
Linzi is a member of STA and follows The International Learn to Swim Programme designed to provide a complete progressive aquatic pathway for learners of all ages to progress from their first aquatic experiences through to becoming safe proficient swimmers.
The scheme aims to build on knowledge and skill development at each level and reward achievement through a range of exciting awards and certificates.
Class Schedule
Terms run from between 10 to 14 weeks
Classes are currently £15.15 for a 30 minute lesson. Only 7 children in the pool and only one class running at a time. All the children are treated individually, we have great fun, develop water confidence and learn to swim. I’m in the pool teaching too!
Terms vary from 10-14 weeks, totalling 31 – 34 weeks a year
We run monthly subscriptions which I hope will help both your budgeting and my cashflow. It will also mean that if lessons are cancelled we have more flexibility.
Lessons Price £15.15
payable by subscription
Lesson are £15.15. Once a lesson has been booked, your first monthly payment will be taken on the 1st of the following month. If you book this week, your first monthly payment will be taken on 1st of the following month. Around half term, you will be invited to re-join the following term or to give at least 4 weeks notice so your last payment ties up with the last month of the current term.
Once you have started a term, you are committed to pay for the whole term.
